Greetings everyone. In the “Aztecs & Wholesale Beach Towels” blog post, we will tell you about the Aztec Empire and the Aztec Wholesale Beach Towels product.

In this article, I will first tell you about the Aztec Empire. It will be a review of architecture, history and different perspectives. In the continuation, we will talk about Aztec Wholesale Beach Towels and finish it. Lets start.

The Aztec Empire is a civilization founded in the 14th century BC in Central America. The Aztecs established a large city-state with its capital at Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) in what is now Mexico. At the height of his empire, about 15 million people lived. Aztec art is one of the most remarkable art styles in Mexico and Central America. It has come to the fore especially in the fields of sculpture, mosaic, painting and architecture. The Aztecs created numerous works of art that were used for warrior and religious rituals. The symbols and colors in their art often carry mythological and religious meanings. Aztec architecture is known for its use of materials such as stone, wood, and clay. Their architectural styles include geometric shapes, reliefs, symbolic paintings, and relief sculptures. In addition, architectural features such as stairs, water channels and carrier arches used in temples are successful examples of the architectural development of the Aztecs.

Aztec Architecture

Tenochtitlan

Tenochtitlan is the capital of the ancient Aztec Empire. It was built on an island in Lake Texcoco. The city of Mexico was founded as the capital of New Spain, which was founded at that time, on the city that was destroyed to a great extent by the Spanish “Conquistadors” (conqueror) under the rule of Hernan Kortez in the 1520s. After a certain period of time, it dried to a large extent in the Texcoco Lake surrounding the city.

Templo Mayor

The Templo Mayor was the main temple in Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Mexican people. Located in present-day Mexico City, its architectural style belongs to the late Postclassic period of Mesoamerica. It was simultaneously dedicated to Huitzilopochtli, the god of war, and Tlaloc, the god of rain and agriculture, with a tomb for each god at the top of the pyramid, accessible by separate stairs. The tower in the middle of the adjoining structure was dedicated to Quetzalcoatl as Ehecatl, god of the wind. Dedicated to Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc, the Great Temple measured about 100 by 80 meters at the base and dominated the Sacred Ground. Construction of the first temple began sometime after 1325, and the temple was rebuilt six times. The temple was destroyed by the Spanish in 1521 to make room for the new cathedral.

Tzompantli

The Tzompantli was a skull post used in the warrior rituals of the Aztecs. This structure was created by putting together the skulls of the enemies killed in the war.

Calmecac

Calmecac was part of the Aztec education system. This structure housed the religious and scientific education given to the children of the royal family and the high priests.

Cuicuilco

Cuicuilco is a pre-Aztec building. This structure was built from limestone blocks and was used between 400-600 BC.
